Ewa

Ewa discovered partner dancing in 2014, but has always been drawn to movement – electronic music had long called her to the dance floor. She quickly moved into DJing, teaching and organising events in Glasgow. Her DJing for fusion dancers became known for what some have jokingly called “beepy-boopy bullshit”—a playful nod to her love of intricate electronic sounds. But in truth, she thrives on variety and novelty, always seeking out tracks that inspire movement in fresh, unexpected ways. She sees DJing as a personal challenge: to find and share music that moves her, often tracks she hasn’t heard played at fusion events before. This approach has led others to describe her sets as “I-listen-to-everything” sets—a label she fully embraces.
When asked about a follow-focused fusion event, her immediate thought was: “Oh, this will be such a connection-filled weekend!” To her, following is about connection—not just with her partner, but with the music, herself, the floor, and the entire room. Think of a dance where both dancers are trying to lead—there’s tension, a push-and-pull that feels like a disagreement. Now, picture a dance where both are truly listening, following each other’s movement in real time. That’s where harmony happens. That’s the magic of following.
Sarah

Sarah seeks to embody the joy of connection and exploration that dance brings them in their DJing. They like to challenge themselves to bring you a diversity of music styles in a variety of languages. Expect both cozy delicious beats and dynamic tracks that will invite you to go on a journey! Sarah is excited to be a part of The Response and the way it will explore dancing; they are looking forward to translating the way they wiggle into dances that allow them to express their voice when following, or encourage creativity and connection for the follower when leading. Feel free to ask them to lead, follow, or switch!
Anna

Inspired by the crossed sensory wires in her brain, feeling sound as texture, Anna’s sets invite dancers to physically feel what they hear whether melting, crunchy, fluffy, elastic, crystalline, scratchy and more. Her happy place is creating strange and lush textural, storydriven soundscape journeys that dancers can step into . She draws largely from bass-driven rhythms, complex pop, EDM, and Celtic folk music when the moment is right.
She is intensely keen to support an event that centres the art of following. As the skills of listening, adapting, pausing, empathising, collaborating are often devalued by our culture at large, she’s thrilled to be a part of an event that repositions values and narratives around these life skills on and off the dance floor.
Anaïs

Fusion dance has transformed her life— both her dance the person she is today… and continues to grow into. The dancefloor is where she feels the most herself, a space where she loves to explore and share through movement.
When Anïs plays a set, she enjoys guiding dancers from one state to another. She loves the feeling of progression in her sets, making the dancefloor a space where different textures blend—cozy to intense, beautiful to colorful, joyful to melancholic.
She’s honored to play music at The Response because it’s amazing to celebrate the skills of following. There is incredible subtlety in following while adding one’s own personal touch to the movement. She wants to learn more!
